In a joint statement by its President and Secretary, Lucius Ugorji and Donatus Ogun, the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), outrightly condemned the Pope’s blessing of same marriage which has been generating a lot of controversies.

They made it clear that Nigeria churches would not respect Pope’s directives, insisting that such teaching is against the teachings of Christ.

“There is, therefore, no possibility of blessing same-sex unions and activities in the church; that will go against God’s law, the teachings of the church, the laws of our nation, and the cultural sensibilities of our people.

“We thank all the priests for their accompaniment of married couples, asking them to continue in all they do to sustain the sacrament of holy matrimony, and never to do anything that will detract from the sacredness of this sacrament,” CBCN’s statement read in part.

This is not the first time Nigeria is uniting against same sex marriage.

Sometimes in 2013, the National Assembly passed anti-gay marriage bill and proceeded to approve 14-year jail term for same sex marriage offenders.

Emefiele operated 593 illegal accounts in US, UK and China – Special Investigator

God is fighting for millions of ordinary Nigerians who were nearly killed last year over naira redesign policy by Central Bank of Nigeria even as Special Investigator discovered that former CBN governor Emefiele operated illegal 593 accounts in US, UK and China

God is now fighting for millions of ordinary Nigerians who were nearly killed last year due to the anti-people naira redesign policy by Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The Special Investigator on the CBN and Related Entities, Jim Obaze, has revealed another shocking story that Emefiele operated different 593 bank accounts in the United States, United Kingdom, and China without the approval of the apex bank’s board of directors and the CBN Investment Committee.

This was contained in a report titled “Report of the Special Investigation on CBN and Related Entities (Chargeable offences” which Obaze submitted to President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday.

“The former governor of CBN, Godwin Emefiele invested Nigeria’s money without authorization in 593 foreign bank accounts in United States, China and United Kingdom, while he was in charge.

“All the accounts where the billions were lodged have all been traced by the investigator,” the report read in part.

Emefiele, who is presently in Kuje Custodial Centre for N1.2 billion procurement fraud, has been unable to meet the N300 million bail Federal High Court granted him in November.

However, Tinubu administration seems prepared to slam Emefiele with yet another charge due to fresh evidence in the new document, Punch reported.

This time, Tunde Sabiu, a former aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, with 12 other CBN top directors might also be affected due to their roles in fraudulent naira redesigned policy which investigation shows was “forced” on former President Muhammad Buhari.

While Nigerians were dying due to naira scarcity, little did they know that it was all a hoax, that there was no genuine intention in the exercise. According to reports, it was Tunde who conceived the idea and sold it to Emefiele in 2022.

The former CBN boss, knowing the evil proceeds he and his accomplices stood to gain, bought it and officially wrote to Buhari in September 2022. Buhari did not bother to check the effects on his subject and had simply allowed Emefiele to go on.

Daniel Ndukwe, the state Police Public Relations Officer, disclosed this in a statement today. The ex-Councillor from Enugu South local government area, Henry Agbo Ogbonna, was paraded with six other youths and, together, they are facing charges on armed robbery and cultism.

The statement read:

“The Commissioner of Police Enugu State Command, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Police to continuously clamp down on unrepentant criminal elements in the State.

“The reaffirmation is following the arrest of seven (7) male suspects, including a former Local Government councilor, for the m s, and secret cultism. Six (6) firearms, sixteen (16) live cartridges, and a snatched motor vehicle were recovered.

“A brief description of the arrests and recoveries shows that Police Operatives serving in the Abakpa Police Division of the Command, in synergy with the Neighbourhood Watch Group, on 06/12/2023 at about 9.30p.m., arrested one Ndubuisi Ugochukwu Eze Oboro aged 27.

“The suspect and cohorts, who escaped, had attacked their male victim, dispossessed him of his phones and snatched his Toyota Camry car in the process. But were on the verge of escaping when Operatives swooped on them, arrested the suspect, and recovered one (1) locally made double-barreled pistol and the vehicle.

“In a different development, Police Operatives of the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad of the Command, in the month of November 2023, arrested the following male suspects: Kosisochukwu Ochiora aged 25, Agbo Daniel (a.k.a. Ara) aged 25, Henry Agbo Ogbonna aged 42, Ani Samuel aged 17, and Okolo Ndukanachi aged 24.

“The suspects were arrested for their involvement in a case of conspiracy, unlawful possession of firearms, and cultism.

“Their arrest led to the recovery of four (4) firearms, comprising two (2) locally made double-barreled and one locally made revolver pistol, one (1) cut-to-size single-barreled gun, and sixteen (16) live cartridges.

“Investigations have proved that the suspects confessed to being members of the Vikings Confraternity, while one of them, Henry Agbo Ogbonna, was found to be the former Councillor of Ikiriki Ward 6 in Enugu South Local Government Legislative Council, acclaimed Senior Special Assistance on Works to the Council’s Executive Chairman, and is a member and sponsor of the secret cult group activities.

“It further revealed that the suspects, in the month of November 2023, perfected plans to avenge the attack on one of their cult group members by a notorious member of a rival cult group, Apache Tiger (also known as Two-two). This is before the Operatives swung into action and arrested them.

“Similarly, the Operatives of the Squad, on 24/11/23 at about 8.30 p.m., arrested a male suspect, Ani Chidera aged 28, for his involvement in the case of burglary. A painstaking investigation led to the recovery of one (1) locally made pistol from the suspect, who also confessed to being a member of Viking’s Viking Confraternity. The suspect has been arraigned in court and remanded in the Correctional Custodial Centre.

“The unprosecuted of the cases shall be charged to court and the suspects prosecuted once ongoing investigations are concluded.”
