Natasha Akpoti begin fresh fight with another senator even as her battle with Akpabio rages, new updates

Check updates on Akpabio and Natasha Akpoti fight

Senator Natasha Akpoti has begun a fight with another. She is still fighting the Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The embattled Senator has submitted petition against the chairman of Senate Committee on ethics, privilege and public petition, Senator Nedamwen Bernards Imasuen. She is asking the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) to disbar Imasuen.

According to Natasha, Imasuen was disbarred from the New York Bar in 2010. He allegedly defrauded a client and misappropriated fund from another. When called for an answer, Imasuen didn’t submit himself disciplinary authorities, so he was disbarred.

Senator Imasuen has continued to hide this to the public, Natasha alleged. His disbarment reflected neither in his political nor legal career. Also, he didn’t mention it in the documents he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Imasuen was disbarred in UK – Natasha

Natasha Akpoti told LPDC that Senator Nedamwen Bernards Imasuen was disbarred in UK after his former client, Daphne Slyfield, complained.

Ultimately, she wanted the LPDC to also disbar Imasuen in Nigeria. There are a lot of reasons for the disciplinary committee to do so, Natasha said.

It would, of course, be interesting to see how LPDC would handle Natasha’s petition. The procedure is that the committee would review such a petition and take actions in accordance with justice.

How it was handled eventually will go a long way to present Nigerian Bar either in good or bad light.

Natasha clashes with Akpabio and Imasuen

Senator Imasuen would be the second senator Natasha Akpoti is clashing with in just matter of weeks.

The Senator representing Kogi Central picked fight with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The battle, which still unfold even to this day, has shown several twists so far. It has led to Natasha being suspended in the Senate for six months. It has also led to call to recall to senator and, of course, to loss of public confidence in the leadership of Nigerian Senate.
