Recall that one of his campaign promises was to build 1,000 kilometers of roads all across the zone during his term.
While kicking off the projects yesterday in Oduma, Prince Nwanjoku repeated his “business unusual” rhetoric, adding that Aninri would witness unprecedented transformation under his watch. And every nooks and crannies in Aninri would be identified and paved, he added.
“We did not just make promises on the campaign trail,” Nwanjoku said before huge crowd at one of the sites. “We will build our roads, and our markets, and our parks all across our wonderful land. And our people shall be happy again.
According to Mr Moses Okorie, the senior special adviser to the chairman on public finance, who witnessed the commissioning, the roads cut across Obeagu, Amoji, Amokwe, Mmafu and Ohofia communities in Oduma town.
“What Mayor [Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku] is doing is very deliberate,” Mr Okorie said.

“Each of his projects is purposefully targeting communities, and each of the 10 wards would benefit. The 33 kilometers of the rural roads are in Mmafu, Amokwe, Obeagu, Amoji, and Ohofia communities,” he added.
A prominent community leader in Obeagu community in Oduma, Mr Amaechi Odi, also thanked the chairman, describing him as “our workaholic Mayor.”
The Obeagu road is a deathtrap and has been like that for over 10 years, Odi pointed out. Each successive council chairman, including those from Oduma extraction, had looked at it and passed on.
“Mayor [Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku], thank you. This is timely intervention, we’re happy,” Odi added.
