Origin of Osun State crisis

Appeal Court passed controversial ruling that allegedly reinstated the APC-elected chairmen and councillors in Osun state. Emboldened by the judgement, APC members and their elects proceeded on Monday to occupy the secretariats.

Meanwhile, the members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were already waiting and willing at the secretariats across the state to fight.

But the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, had warned on Monday that Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, has bribed heads of security agencies to aid the APC takeover.

When the two parties met on Monday, all the council areas engulfed in bloody fight that left scores wounded apart from claiming many lives.
