Breaking: Fubara begins fresh attack on Wike’s royalists, sack LGA chairman

  • “Fubara news no dey finish,” one social media user said as Governor Siminalayi Fubara renews attacks on Wike.

Barely a week after Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, defeated Fubara and PDP governors, Fubara is opening another line of attack against his predecessor.

He has suspended Otonye Briggs, the chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, replacing him with Bitebobo Nelson Amieye, who is sitting on the capacity of caretaker.

Disclosing the development through a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara said Briggs’ suspension took immediate effect from September 17.

This is the latest in the lingering political crisis rocking the oil state for more than a year. Although there were no details, it is believed that Fubara’s action is strategic and it is aimed at Wike’s political structures in the state.
