Nearly all the serving Caretakers Committee Chairmen in Rivers State have picked tickets from the Action People’s Party (APP), dumping their own Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

Already, PDP has announced it would be boycotting the state’s council elections slated to hold on October 5.
The mass defection is the latest development in the ongoing feud in the Rivers State political space, and it represents new intrigue that is certain to keep public interested in the oil state.
Wike has declared he would let his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, do anything else except “destroying” the PDP political structures he led while serving in the state.

Most local government areas are affected in the ongoing PDP mass defection.

Chijioke Ihunwo from Obio/Akpor, Ezebunwo Ichemati from Port Harcourt, Brain Gokpa from Eleme, David Omereji from Emohua, John Ngubo-Otamiri from Etche, Promise Reginald from Omuma, and Mathew Dike from Tai we’re among those who dumped PDP ahead of the October 5 elections.
The All Progressives Congress congress, alongside 17 other political parties are reportedly fielding candidates for the elections.
PDP has since announced it is boycotting the exercise.
