Breaking: Senate approves Kekere-Ekun as new CJN

The Senate has just approved the appointment of Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the new Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
President Bola Tinubu had written to President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio and requested that the red chamber hastened Kekere-Ekun’s confirmation.
She has been serving as CJN on acting capacity since August after Justice Olukayode Ariwoola retired.

With this appointment, Kekere-Ekun would go down in history as the 23rd Chief Justice of the country, and the second female CJN in Nigeria.
