EDO 2024: “WE’LL DISLODGE PDP,” IYERE VOWS AS HE EMERGES CANDIDATE IN TODAY’S PRIMARY ELECTION
Nigeria’s top political organizer and ultimate leader of the Obidient Movement, Comr Kennedy Iyere, has talked tough as he emerges candidate of Accord Party ahead of Edo State 2024 gubernatorial election.
Five aspirants voluntarily stepped down to pave way for Iyere’s victory in the rancour-free primary election held today, February 17, in Benin City, the state capital.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) oversaw the exercise in compliance to the rules and guidelines before security agents, good number of civil society organizations (CSOs), party officials and members.

During his acceptance speech, Iyere unveiled his running mate while also gave overview of the robust campaign he is prepared to run.
“Thank God for the primary conducted today by Accord Party, which produced me as the first Candidate for the 2024 Edo Guber Poll.
“My Running Mate or Deputy Candidate is Bright Enabulele and together we shall pull the sufficient votes required for our desired victory.
“We are forming a coalition of not fewer than 6 political parties who will provide the formidable political platform needed to dislodge the APC and PDP in Edo State and rescue the indigenes and other inhabitants of Edo State from the misery of hunger, deprivation, unemployment and extreme poverty.
“Edo State is politically and economically broken by its failed past and present political leaders. The time to fix Edo State is now or never, hence we have adopted FIX-EDO-2024 PROJECT as our campaign theme,” he said.
Several polls show that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would stand no chance in the coming election owing to its many anti-people policies.
And Iyere, starting earliest as the first candidate in the race and by choosing a great man as running mate, has edge, analysts say.
