The chairman of Igbo Etiti local government area in Enugu State has set tongues wagging. His “unusual” appointments caught his people and others off guard.

Hon. Dr. Eric Ogbonna Odo appointed Senior Special Assistant on Garden Egg and Pepper. This is in addition to another funny appointment – Senior Special Assistant on Yam and Pepper.
Nwodo Everestus Ugonna and Ezeugwu Frederick Ogbonna were appointed as SSAs on Garden Egg and Pepper and Yam and Pepper respectively.
It was former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha who made an appointment akin to these when he created Ministry for enjoyment to accommodate his relative in his cabinet.
While there is no way yet to determine if such weird appointments was made in Enugu before, Hon. Eric Ogbonna’s appointment letter really caused uproar.
“I am pleased to inform you that the executive chairman Igbo Etiti LGA has approved your appointment as SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT to the Local Government chairman on AGRICULTURE (GARDEN EGG & PEPPER),” Ugonna’s appointment letter read in part.
“I am pleased to inform you that the executive chairman Igbo Etiti LGA has approved your appointment as SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT to the Local Government chairman on AGRICULTURE (YAM & PEPPER,” so read Ogbonna’s appointment letter.
