Speaking, Mr. Tochukwu Nwanjoku, spokesperson of the group who doubled as the candidate’s younger brother, said he had his men on ground and that he was sure of victory at the polls on September 21.
On Sunday, Monday and yesterday Nwanjoku has equally received torrents of support groups and high-profile individuals who are all pledging support for his candidacy.
Governor Peter Mbah’s decision to single out Prince Ugochukwu has removed the usual PDP post-primary elections dissension, united all PDP factions in Aninri, and suddenly made the party formidable again in the council area.
Since his victory at the party’s primary elections, leaders of various factions and political divides, including stakeholders of Labour Party and All Progressives Congress have so identified with the Governor’s choice.
Such consensus was last seen between 2003 and 2011, the era when former Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, had sole and firm grip of Aninri politics.
