Fubara: “You’re an idiot!,” PDP Governors’ reply to Wike shocks him

There is another twist to the raging political crisis in Rivers State as the governors elected under the Peoples’ Democratic Party has replied Nyesom Wike.

In a statement signed by its Director General, Emmanuel Agbo, the PDP Governors’ Forum said that Wike’s threat was absolutely “irresponsible”.

Recall that the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, while speaking at the PDP secretariat in Port Harcourt over the weekend, threatened to “put fire” under all the PDP-controlled states as punishment for the governors’ support for Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

“I hear some governors who say they will take over the structure and give back to somebody.

“I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states. When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace – anything you see you take,” Wike had said.

Wike has been at loggerhead with his successor, whom he accused of trying to sweep away his (Wike’s) political structures.

The PDP governors reply is the latest in the clash between Wike and Fubara.

In the statement the Forum vowed to stand by Fubara while casting Wike as an ungrateful beneficiary whom the same forum he is threatening solidly backed during his travails in the hands of former President Muhammad Buhari.

“The Forum has always maintained “A TOUCH ONE TOUCH ALL” philosophy and individually and collectively stand by and support each other no matter the circumstance. A tradition Wike tremendously enjoyed in his days of travail as governor. Thus, we therefore maintain that our position on the affairs of the PDP in Rivers State, as unanimously resolved at our 2024, 3rd and 4th Meetings held in Enugu and Taraba States respectively are not subject to review by any individual no matter how highly placed,” the statement read in part.
