One Ademilua Oni is cooling his head in Ado-Ekiti correctional centre after he killed his 92-year-old mother.

According to the story, the man stole some undisclosed items, probably from his mother. The aged woman reportedly tried to catch her son in the act, but he had to escape so he pushed her so violently that she fell. She died.
The Prosecutor, Insp Elijah Adejare, who told an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ekiti State, said the incident happened on December 15, 2024.
The offence contravenes Section 234 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021, Adejare said, urged the court to remand the suspect while they await legal advice from office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Although the Chief Magistrate didn’t heed the prosecutor’s plea, she ordered, on her own, that the defendant be remanded in prison until January 31, 2025 when the case would be mentioned.
