Only few days ago, news broke that the MC Oluomo was declared winner after NURTW conducted elections in Ondo State.
Ruling, the three-man panel said that Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa was the duly elected president of the union. MC Oluomo must stop parading himself as NURTW national president, the Justices said.
Appeal Court also revisited the judgement of National Industrial Court in March 11, 2024. In the suit marked NICN/ABJ/263/2023, the court had upheld Baruwa as the president.
Alh. Najeem Usman Yasin, Alh. Tajudeen Agbede and host of others had approached Appeal Court, seeking to overturn the judgement.
But ruling, it ruled that those challenging the emergence of Baruwa lacked merit and therefore dismissed the appeal. Also, it mandated Mc Oluomo’s loyalists to pay ₦100,000 fine.
Baruwa, in a press conference, said that MC Oluomo’s inauguration is both laughable and an affront on the laws.
National Industrial Court and Court of Appeal rulings on March and November 8 respectively barred Yasin-led faction.
He called on the Inspector General of Police, Attorney General of the Federation to arrest MC Oluomo and his allies for their efforts to disrupt the activities of NURTW.
