Alex Ikwechegh, the House of Representatives member was finally dragged to court.

Ikwechegh, who is representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency, came under heavy criticism following his encounter with a Bolt driver, Stephen Abuwatseya. He physically assaulted Abuwatseya and threatened to kill him.
Great public outcry has followed, forcing the lawmaker to issue public apology and promised to cooperate with police investigation.
Yesterday, after his apology, House Committee on Ethics and Privileges chose to probe Alex Ikwechegh.

In a statement released early today, activist Deji Adeyanju revealed the lawmaker was to be arraigned at Kuje Magistrate Court by 12pm, inviting the press to witness the appearance.
“We are on our way to Kuje Magistrate Court for the arraignment of the honourable member who assaulted our client, Mr. Steven, a Bolt driver. The IGP’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) is in charge of the investigation and prosecution.
“The media is invited to cover the arraignment, which is scheduled for 12 pm today at Kuje Magistrate,” the activist said.
