Nollywood actor and politician has reacted to the rumour that he is gay.

A viral blog post claimed that Desmond Elliot and so many other celebrities like actors and reality stars are gay, sparking serious reactions among netizens since yesterday.
The list has well respected household names on it. And social media users can’t help but watch in awe at possible horror their entertainment heroes engaged behind closed doors.
Reacting during an interview with TVC the actor dismissed the allegation as unfounded, and maintained that he had more pressing issues to attend to than responding to mere rumours.
“Why would I respond to allegations made against me when it did not reduce or increase my life?
“Secondly, it is an opinion that is being conceived. And I do not think it is necessary for me to come out and say it’s true or not true; as long as I’m affecting people positively, I’m good.
“If you feel you identify as something as long as it is within the law. People do not have to accept it, do you.
“So let me say right here, I am straight. You can never have anyone straighter than me,” said Desmond Elliot.

Describing the blog posts merely as a ploy its writer uses to gain publicity, the former member Lagos State House of Assembly implied that the blogger has infringed on his rights.
Is Desmond Elliot still a politician?
Desmond Elliot, 50, won the Surulere Constituency on the 11th of April, 2015 and represented his people at Lagos State House of Assembly.
In 2020, during End SARS protest, he came under fire when he was captured in a viral video advocating that Nigerian state should bar citizens from using social media.
The backlashes that followed were excessive and harsh, humbling Elliot who came out publicly to apologized “that he allowed my emotions to get better part of me.
