The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is very specific on its rules. In the board’s latest updates contained in the weekly bulletin, it announced that registration would close in the next five days.
A total of 1,687,860 candidates have registered under 26 days after the registration exercise started on February 3. These figures are below the two million candidates the board earlier projected.

However, the number could be reached as the registration deadline is March 8, 2025.
No extension of registration deadline – JAMB
JAMB 2025 registration will certainly not exceed March 8, the board has emphasized. It also talked about the need to strictly play by its rules. While the registration deadline is still ahead, the possibility is there that those waiting for last-minute rush may experience problems. And JAMB would not be answerable to that.
Again, it advised the candidates to make sure it was through the accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres that they registered.
JAMB 2025 Registration Updates: few takeaways
The JAMB 2025 registration exercise began on February 3. Between April 14 and 18 the UTME will be taken nationwide.
When JAMB opened its portal for registration 201,867 candidates registered in the first week. The second and third weeks saw an increased numbers, closing at 560,025 and 528,832 respectively.
But the fourth week’s figures were phenomenal, with 1,290,715 registered candidates.
An average of 1.5 million people attempt JAMB’ UTME annually.
Last year, 1.9 million sought admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. But it was only about 26 percent of the candidates who scored above 200 out of the 400 obtainable scores.
The exam took place in 774 computer-based test centers (CBT) within 118 towns across Nigeria.
