
Former president of the United States of America, Jimmy Carter, is dead.
Carter, the 39th president of the United States and who turned 100 on October 1, died on Sunday in Plains, Georgia – surrounded by family members, according to Carter Center.

“My father was a hero, not only to me but to everyone who believes in peace, human rights, and unselfish love,” Chip Carter, the former president’s son said in statement.
Jimmy Carter was the longest lived US president in history and the only person from Georgia to ever sit in Oval office.
His 77-year-old marriage with his wife, Rosalynn Carter, is also the most lasting marriage of former US President. Rosalynn died on Nov. 19, 2023 at 96.
US and world leaders pay tributes to Jimmy Carter
Jimmy Carter died at 100, and tributes have been pouring in from leaders in the United States and around the world.
“From Plains to across the State of Georgia, the United States, and around the world, millions will forever admire and appreciate all that President Carter did for the United States and for the global community,” said US Senator Jon Ossoff.
President Biden and President-elect Donald Trump have also reacted to Jimmy Carter’s passing.
“Throughout his life, Jimmy Carter defended the rights of the most vulnerable people and tirelessly led the fight for peace. France sends its heartfelt thoughts to his family and to the American people,” French President, Emmanuel Macron, said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and UN Secretary-General António Guterres, have all said nice things about the 39th president, with each hammering on his unwavering efforts towards peace in the world during his lifetime.
