Kidnappers release Anglican Archbishop after one month in captivity

There is jubilation as kidnappers freed Most Rev. Prof. Godwin Okpala.

Rev. Okpala, a retired Archbishop of the Niger Province and Bishop of Nnewi, was kidnapped a month ago, together with his driver, on his way to a burial ceremony at Umuchu community in Anambra state.

Details of his released are still to come but the cleric is already celebrating his newly-found freedom on his Facebook page.

“Praise the Lord”, he wrote simply and torrents of jubilant followers joined him to thank God.
