Kwankwaso’s ally joins APC as defection hit Kano

More updates on Kwankwaso, defection and 2027 coalition

President Bola Tinubu is a dangerous strategist. His way to winning again the presidency in 2027 is ever clearer as opposition wanes by the day.

Yunusa Adamu Dangwani is among the latest Northern figure to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC). A close ally to Rabiu Kwankwaso, Dangwani was one of the strongest pillars of Kano politics. His defection, no doubt, will weaken Kwankwaso’s New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Recently Nasir El-Rufai, Kwankwaso, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar announced they’re forming coalition to unseat Tinubu in 2027.

However, that aim is fast turning into a mere pipedream as top politicians are joining APC in droves.

“I am aligning with a party that I believe has the structure, leadership, and resolve to fulfill its promises to Nigerians,” Dangwani declared during the ceremony led by Kano State APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas.

Dozens of people who defected dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were welcomed alongside Dangwani.
