Breaking: Okpebholo sworn-in as Edo State governor (photos)

Monday Okpebholo has officially taken over the mantle of Edo State as he was sworn in as new governor.

The inauguration ceremony took place today November 12 at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City.

Dennis Idahosa was also sworn in as the Deputy Governor alongside Okpebholo in the historic transition, Channels Television reported.

Monday Okpebholo won the Edo governorship election, with his running mate, two months ago, defeating the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party in an election believed to be rigged.

Addressing the crowd, the governor thank the people of Edo, restating his promise of unity and prosperity.
