Multi-billionaires set to shutdown Evang. Chukwu’s burial

The burial of late Evangelist Sunday Chukwu may not really be some grieving moment; it would look more like a carnival.

Ahead of the date for his burial, January 4, 2025, signs are already strong that there would be crystal display of wealth and class.

“It’s planned to be extremely sensational, and his internment would dwarf every other burial ceremony ever held in Oduma,” the deceased’s burial committee member who is knowledgeable of the plan told The Mail in anonymity.

Who Evangelist Sunday Chukwu?

Evang. Sunday Chukwu was the founder of Pentecostal Bible Church. But he was far more identified by his affiliation with the Anglican Communion. His late father, Agulu nwa-Chukwu-Akpa, was the first man to champion the Mission’s causes and firmly established the church at his town, Oduma in Aninri local government area of Enugu State.

That was more than a century ago, but the family’s name has since remained synonymous with CMS or Anglican Church.

Late Chukwu started showing interest in the things of God at early stage. He later grown to become a prominent member of the Anglican Church his father pioneered in Oduma.

At early stage, too – at the time when Oduma was very much in the dark – this man became an extremely wealthy trader and, thus, had the freedom to expand on the legacies of his father. While Catholic arrived Oduma through the direct intervention of the white missionaries, Anglican came through Agulu Chukwu-Akpa and began its expanding influence through Evang. Sunday Chukwu.

On January 4th, his full contributions in the church, business and social circles would officially be released in the obituary. That day too, the late clergy’s associates – all of them wealthy – would be coming from far and near to pay their final respect.

“Our people are going to know, perhaps for the first time, who this man really was,” said a 76-year-old wealthy man from Oduma who also preferred anonymity. “Late Chukwu was a great man. This is all I can tell you for now. What you’ll see next tomorrow will shock you,” he added.

A peep into the plan book of the burial also seems to be brimming with different surprises.

Hon. Ikechukwu Chukwu, better known as Accurate, who is a billionaire son of the late evangelist, has already returned from South Africa.

For his sake 11 members of the burial committee pledged live cows, and 6 has redeemed theirs with large cows. Other hundreds of his friends and associates have already raised tens of millions of naira as tribute to the passed hero.

And almost all these ultra-rich and powerful individuals are going to be coming in style on 4th.
