Again, Suellen Carey, a Brazilian influencer and model, has set tongues wagging as she got tired of marrying to herself and filed for divorce.

Suellen, 36, made headlines last year after she announced her decision to marry herself because of her not being able to find a male partner.

That time, her decision was met with mixed reactions. While some thought the influencer took a bold step for “freedom and independence”, a lot more people saw it differently and bashed her on social media.

Today, sologamy is still very unpopular around the world.

Only one year after, Suellen Carey said she felt lonely in her marriage, according to local reporters.

“Self-analysis and reflection are necessary,” she said in recent interview, adding that she now craves for real partner.

But she did not regret it, according to her. Instead, one year of being in marriage with herself was some kind of an experience, she said.

She has reportedly underwent 10 different therapy sessions to enable her fully release herself from the claws of sologamy.

However, Suellen is not the first woman who married herself. Cris Galera, a Brazilian like Suellen, married herself in 2021. But she divorced herself after 90 days, saying she found “someone special.”
