Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal would terminate his contract on January, according to reports.
This is due to the footballer’s frequent injuries – almost in every match.
While playing for his country in October 2023, he tore his ACL in his left knee, prompting a year-long absence inside pitch.
On Monday, in Al-Hilal’s Asian Champions League match with Esteghlal, the Brazilian star made a it to the pitch again – as a substitute – but was forced out again after 29 minutes.
Neymar is playing down the injury concerns, representing it as a mere knee cramps but sources familiar with the situation said the once prized player has been sidelined for three weeks straight.
According to UOL, a Brazilian media outlet, Al-Hilal is seriously considering terminating the £130million-per-year deal they signed. Neymar’s contract remains six months to expire.

The club paid PSG whooping £78million to sign Neymar in 2023 and offered him lucrative contract, too. Despite these sacrifices, the Brazilian could make only seven competitive appearances for the club, scored only one goal and provided only three assists – all because of injuries.
Al-Hilal is at crossroads. To the club Neymar represents a bad investment and its restricted under Saudi Pro League rules to buy another foreign player.
Presently Neymar is one of the club’s eight foreign players above the age of 21.
In the Brazilian’s absence the other seven so cemented their roles within the squad that Neymar is almost not needed any more.
