Veteran Nollywood actor and chieftain of the Labour Party, Kenneth Okonkwo, has thrown a bombshell, insisting that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu holds a better place in public opinion than the Federal Government.
Okonkwo said this in an interview on Arise Television yesterday.

“He (Kanu) is now more like a political prisoner. The longer Nnamdi Kanu is in prison, the taller he becomes and the shorter the government becomes,” the actor-turned politician said.
The Mail reported that Federal Government extradited Kanu from Kenya in 2021 in a style experts say flagrantly violated both Nigeria and international laws.
Since then the Biafran separatist has remained in Department of State Service (DSS) custody from where he appeared severally in different courts in answer to alleged criminal charges against him.
Calls for his release have come from several quarters, the latest of which being the recent visit to the Attorney General of the Federation by the South-East Governors.
Reacting to Kanu’s continued detention, Kenneth Okonkwo said the IPOB leader is suffering simply because he is an Igbo, and not necessarily because he commit any offense.
“Nnamdi Kanu has not done anything that other people from other zones have done.
“We know about Sunday Igboho of the Yoruba nation agitator. We know of the Boko Haram people who say that they want a different country where Western education is an abomination.
“These people have been released, not just that they have been released; in the case of Boko Haram, they have been reassimilated into society and given plum jobs.
“Why is Nnamdi Kanu’s case different? There is an ethnic and some unnecessary bias that is keeping that man in jail,” the LP chieftain said.
