Nyesom Wike, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, has reacted to recent comments former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili made about him.
The Mail reported that Odili organized Christmas ballad in the name of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. But speaker after speaker found a way to divert and talk about politics of the state.

Peter Odili had praised Fubara for rescuing the oil-rich state from Wike who, Odili said, wanted to turn into a “private estate.”
He pledged that he and his family would continue to support Fubara against Wike in the Minister’s fight to destroy “the soul” of Rivers.
Reacting, Wike accused Odili of hypocrisy and termed him a sycophant.
Dismissing as false his predecessor’s claim of turning the their state into a private estate, Wike detailed how it was Odili – not him – that abused powers during his tenure.
“Between him and myself, who has turned Rivers State into a personal estate? His wife is the chairman of a governing council, his daughter is a commissioner, his other daughter is a judge, and he is the general overseer.
“If care is not taken, he might even arrange a marriage for the governor,” the FCT Minister said.
The Fubara’s immediate predecessor has been fighting to retain control of the politics of Rivers State even as he presently serves as President Bola Tinubu’s minister in Abuja. In the course of over 12 months the war rages between him and Fubara, so many ugly incidences have been recorded.
However, Peter Odili’s recent open alliance to Governor Fubara is the latest development that proves Wike is never near succeeding in controlling Rivers political structures.

“We have left Rivers politics for them. Let them manage it. But sycophancy won’t take Odili to the level I have attained,” Wike said.
