The embattled NYSC corper, Raye, finally surrenders and apologizes

Ushie Uguamaye Raye, the embattled NYSC corper finally apologizes after criticizing Lagos and Tinubu

More updates on NYSC corper Tinubu tag

Ushie Uguamaye just feel what its like to be a celebrity. The last few days have been fun, but they obviously have been hell, too.

Ushie Uguamaye, who is also known as Raye, called out President Bola Tinubu’s administration in a viral video. She talked quite a number of things, including the hike in prices of food in Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu, labelling him a “terrible president.”

Raye also called Lagos, where she’s presently serving, a “smelling state.”

In a post sited on her Instagram account, the corper apologized for the “smelling state” remark, and gave reasons she had said so.

“I want to first of all state that “I AM SORRY” to the people who were born and raised in Lagos State if you feel offended by what I said,” Raye started.

According her it wasn’t her intention to “talk down” on Lagos or on those born in the state. She was only addressing the fact that Lagos is dirty and that it shouldn’t be so, she added.

Everything boils down to the government being insensitive to the plight of the citizens. Raye revealed she worked more than 45 hours a week, yet could not afford to sort her basic needs due to the harsh economic reality in Nigeria.

It was out of frustration that she set 30-day goal to called out the government.

But her voice was heard on day one “because a lot of us are actually angry, and Day 1 of the challenge was enough for people to join me”.
