Fubara signed the 8-point communique from the meeting, in presence of other stakeholders, where he ultimately agreed to hand over Rivers control to Nyesom Wike.

Reacting to the resolution, Fubara who spoke at 3rd Convocation and 6th Founders Day ceremonies of the PAMO University of Medical Sciences in Iriebe Town, said he would give peace a chance by keeping to what he signed before Tinubu.

There would be no price too big to pay for peaceful Rivers State, the governor said although his words are generally believed to be born out of fear and defeat.

“While some progress has been made, it is obvious that a lot still needs to be done to achieve our collective aspirations for universal access to quality education and healthcare for our people.

“I need not say that no society can progress without educated and healthy people,” Fubara added.
