Sensations in Aninri as Uche Nnaji’s aide sponsors huge projects (video)

For the first time in decades, Aninri politics is being run by young and visionary young men, according to Mr Johnson Nweze, Enugu-based political analyst of note.

“And I think it is now that we are getting it right in the council,” Mr Nweze said. “Take, for instance, the magnanimity of Chief Nwachinemere. One man who does not hold any elective position doing wonders in his community,” he added.

Hon Chief Anayo Obasi ( Nwachinemere 1 of Awa Kingdom), who is the Chief Protocol to Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology Chief Uche Nnaji, indeed did “wonders” at his village during Christmas period.

He mounted solar street lights at major roads in Obeagu community in Oduma; shared hundreds of bags of fertilizer and thousands of rappers to widows all across Aninri; gifted tens of smart phones to the youths.

Before the yuletide, Nwachinemere led delegation of Aninri youths and chiefs to the minister, and secured the APC gubernatorial candidate’s promise to give more federal jobs to Aninri people.

Also, another five Aninri natives participated and completed training on renewable energy technology, a program concluded on December 12, 2024 by the Energy Commission.

This is not the first time Chief Obasi was blessing his community. Hon Amobi Agbara, the chairmanship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last concluded council elections in Aninri, told The Mail that Nwachinemere has been active, for almost ten years, in supporting the widows, the youths and the aged in various forms.

“December 30, 2023 Nwachinemere hosted hundreds of Aninri women and nearly 100 youths. He shared bags of rice, rapper, smart phones and varieties of household items.

“He has been doing this for years. He is simply a generous young man, a great philanthropist,” Hon Agbara said.

The Aninri political environment of past years is remarkably different from today’s. Today, no individual or family appears to hold the old reign of godfathers in the council, and its youths are emerging organically to the delight of the people.

The young leaders – Hon Chief Anayo Obasi, the Chief Protocol to Minister Uche Nnaji; Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku, the chairman of Aninri; Hon Magnus Edeh, House member representing Aninri in Enugu State House of Assembly; Hon Lloyd Ekweremadu, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports – are all showing exceptional abilities in representing the people of Aninri.
