Veteran Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo has reacted to the state of emergency in Rivers State.

The Mail reported that President Bola Tinubu has, during nationwide broadcast yesterday, imposed emergency rule Rivers. He also suspended Governor Siminialayi Fubara, his deputy and members of the House of Assembly for six months.

So far, the development has garnered a lot of attention, with many accusing the president of overstepping his powers. Hilda Dokubo, who is also a politician, labelled Tinubu a “shameless” president.

In a post she share on her Instagram page this morning, Dokubo accused the president of only aiming at the “economic soul of Rivers State.”

“State of emergency because for two years we have had peace!

“State of emergency because you want to capture the economic soul of Rivers State!

“State of emergency because of one man?

“Shameless! Perhaps Mr. President should say he wants to annex Rivers State.

“The Animal Farm by George Orwell should be given to every Rivers State citizen as palliative. Meantime, someone tell Mr Jones to rein in his pigs,” the actress said.

Hilda Dokubo was one of the strongest pillars of Obidient Movement, the political wave that swept so many unknown persons to power during the 2023 general election.
