“Take Money for Free,” Iyere, Fr. Mbaka Unveil Multi-billions Naira Project for Youths and Women
Ace humanitarian activist, Comrade Kennedy Iyere, has launched a multi-billions naira initiative that targets mostly women and young farmers.
The event held Thursday at Hard Break Hotels and Suites in Enugu State.
Speaking with newsmen briefly after the unveiling, Iyere said the programme was in line with his commitment to help fight poverty in Nigeria.
Tagged “Fund-Yes Cooperative” the project was first announced some six months ago when Iyere, alongside people like legendary political economist, Prof. Pat Utomi and actress Patience Ozokwo launched “Food4All.”
Although presently running as the gubernatorial candidate in Edo State under Accord Party, Iyere said Fund-Yes is an apolitical project.
“It’s not the best introduction,” Iyere corrected the anchor who reminded the audience that he (Iyere) is running for governorship.
“It’s our vision to help bring life back to local communities. Fund-Yes, as a cooperative, has access to large number of local and international donors, from where we will be getting the money,” he continued.
According to him, the cooperative would be signing Memorandum of Understanding with interested partners.
“We’ll get the money for you and we’ll provide every other things that you need from planting to harvesting season. You don’t need a collateral,” he said.
He explained that Fund-Yes would be acting as the off-taker of the final produces to further reduce the challenges of the beneficiaries.
While reacting to questions from the audience, Iyere revealed how prominent individuals and multinational businesses have already keyed into the project, including revered Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka who has already donated 2,000 acres of land to Fund-Yes.

Present in the launch included officials of of four different banks, including Polaris Bank, Access Bank. Leaders of various farmers, youths and women associations across Enugu State showed up, too.
