Trump deports 85 Nigerians in chains, keeps 116 others in detention centers

New US president Donald Trump is certainly not playing. After the initial squabbles from particularly Mexico, Trump’s historic crackdown on illegal immigrants continues rolling daily.

Today, 85 Nigerians are being bundled out of US, probably in chains. They’ll be “dropped in Lagos,” US said in a statement.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, said she was deeply worried about the returning nationals and their detained colleagues abroad.

“At the moment, we’re told that about 201 Nigerian nationals are in US immigration camps, and about 85 have been cleared for deportation.

“Will there be any way of ameliorating their pains? This has been of great concern to not just Nigerian nationals in the US but family members in Nigeria who depend on them for survival, children whose school fees are paid for by these diasporans,” Odumegwu-Ojukwu said in a statement her media aide, Magnus Eze, signed yesterday.

Trump: How US announced the deporting Nigerian nationals

Donald Trump’s administration is boldly showing the world, including US allies, that it doesn’t care how anyone feel about the country’s immigration policies.

Trump has tagged illegal immigrants number of dirty names, including “criminals,” “alien”. He has continued to deport the victims using military aircrafts, making sure they’re subjected to extreme rough and shameful return. Some were chained and treated like criminals.

“Those to be repatriated would be dropped in Lagos. There would not be room for whether it should be in Port Harcourt or Abuja.

“The first group will be convicted prisoners—those who committed crimes and are in US prisons. Some of them are those who have clearly violated US immigration laws,” US said.

Now, Nigeria is demanding for the deportees to be treated with some respect. But Trump is simply not listen. He didn’t even listen to Mexico, Canada and India which are far powerful nations and US allies. He treated the illegal immigrants from those countries and proceeded to return them in chains, and with military planes.
