Updated: APC surrenders, U-turns to congratulate Nwanjoku

Barely an hour after the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission announced that Prince Ugo Nwanjoku won the council election, his counterpart in the All Progressives Congress, Chief Amobi Agbara, have congratulated him.

The Mail reported that Ugo Nwanjoku, the chairmanship candidate of PDP in Aninri won.

He completed with APC, SDP, Labour Party and other political parties.

During an interview yesterday at his Oduma hometown, Chief Agbara had said he was optimistic that APC would win, adding that election was “free and fair.”

“I’ve already reached out to Prince Nwanjoku,” the APC candidate told The Mail.

“As a democrat I already know the rules. When the mass speak its honourable to listen.

“The elections were conducted under free and fair atmosphere. And PDP clearly won. That is why I congratulated the winner.

The Mail has reported that PDP won in all the 17 local government areas of Enugu State.
