Hours after the substantive Speaker of Lagos State Assembly raised alarm, the impeached Speaker Mudashiru Obasa has made a forceful return.
The Mail reported that Mojisola Meranda, cried out for help a couple of hours ago. According to her media aide, she had woke up this morning to the news that all the escorts assigned to her had been abruptly withdrawn.
There was no reason for the withdrawal, which further unnerved the 44-year-old woman Speaker.
“In the early hours of Thursday, we woke up to the startling news that all security details assigned to Madam Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, had been withdrawn.
“This includes the police and DSS officers, leaving her exposed to threats amid the ongoing speakership crisis,” her aide, Mr. Victor Ganzallo, said in a statement.
However, sources told PM News that it was the Inspector General of Police who instructed that Meranda be stripped of her security amid the Speakership tussle.
Then, Obasa arrived to seize the speakership, armed to the teeth, in a move that is likely to stir the very climax of the escalating conflict.
