The senator, representing Abia North senatorial zone, had posted photo of him and Bello on Facebook where the duo shared a light hug. According to the former Abia State governor, it was his way of celebrating Boxing Day on December 26th.
“I extended ‘OUK HUG’ to my brother and friend, ex-Gov. Yahaya Bello as we Celebrate Boxing Day together in my residence,” Orji Uzo Kalu wrote.
The post instantly attracted over a thousand comments, which is rare in the senator’s very unpopular Facebook page.
Reacting, most Nigerians called the two leaders former “Kuje prisoners.”
The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) placed Yahaya Bello under arrest and took him to court after much drama before he was finally remanded in Kuje Prison facility.
Recall that Orji Uzo Kalu, on the other hand, faced similar embarrassing ordeal in the past when he was also thrown into Kuje Prison for the same corruption charges EFCC preferred against Bello.
The senator’s post, instead of gathering good wishes from his followers as he probably wanted, turned out to garner thousands of spiteful comments.
