PDP elevates Prince Nwanjoku to a new national post

Ahead of its National Convention in August, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku to serve at the national level.

The party’s National Working Committee (NWC) chose him a member of Youth, Contact and Mobilisation Committee. The party would be holding its convention on 29 August, 2025.

“First of all, I give God all the glory. I thank His Excellency the governor of Enugu State Dr Peter Ndubisi Mbah for this opportunity to serve. And, of course, I thank the leadership of our great party. I promise to give my best,” Nwanjoku told the press in his Enugu residence on Thursday.

This is coming days after RootsWatch Magazine recognised him with award as the best serving council chairman in Enugu State.

Prince Nwanjoku is the second former chairman to put Aninri on a national map after ex-Senator Ike Ekweremadu. After serving as the chairman of the council, Ekweremadu had proceeded to hold other positions in the state before serving as a senator for decades.

Traditionally, most previous Aninri chairmen and their deputies would serve their terms with zero impact and then fizzled out of relevance. Some even sunk into poverty, turning local farmers or petty traders.
