More updates on women “embarrassing ” walkout on Remi Tinubu

Once again, what seems like the hope for peace in Rivers state is dead. FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has attacked suspended Governor Siminialayi Fubara.

Wike’s anger is coming after women in Rivers State staged a walkout on First Lady, Remi Tinubu.

The president’s wife was at EUI Event Centre in Port Harcourt to empower 500 women on a Renewed Hope programme. But she got the shock of her life. Before her eyes, number of women loyal to Fubara staged an embarrassing walkout. They simply left the event, leaving the First Lady standing like a fool.

Describing the walkout as an “insult”, Wike, who is out of the country at the moment, apologized to the president.

“Insult on anyone representing the First Lady of Nigeria in an event is a direct insult on the office of the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said through his aide.

Wike alleged that Fubara planned the embarrassment, while accusing the embattled governor of being dishonest in his quest for a truce in the oil-rich state.

Wike and Fubara have being fighting over the control of Rivers. Even while on his seat as the governor, Fubara lost to his predecessor and was last month suspended by President Bola Tinubu.

With every route to remaining relevant closed, Fubara has reportedly been on his knees before Wike and Tinubu. According to several sources, Fubara was within arm’s length of being reinstated.

Then, there was this walkout. Wike is already robbing that to Fubara’s face.

“It is not enough to be visiting people to plead for peace, those who genuinely want peace work and act for it.

“These are the same people pleading for peace, but at the same time doing things that are contrary to what they are pleading for.

“How can you say you want peace and at the same time, you are sponsoring people to insult everyone, including the President and his wife,” said the two-term former Rivers State governor.
